Summer flowers

well the craziness and paint flinging has finally begun to arrive at the MLC windows.
We listened to the concerto and painted to it all morning..
all in all a great day and a happy outcome!

Sometimes its fun to just dress good mannequins.. to enjoy the stock and the youthful nature of fashion designers like Luella, Miu Miu, Therese Rawsthorne, Josh Goot and Melissa Shoes..
And then to use fluro mini pom-poms, wool and perspex squares to magically bring it all together.. yay!

The mannequin's 'eyes' come from a momentary obsession with coloured paper as an artform:) and as you can see i carried this through to our shoe and accessories wall.. the shoe 'alien landscapes' were so much fun to do:)

whirlwind

I met an amazing partner in crime.. who all too soon left to pursue a vision in a far away land:) and due to this departure... i have been awakened like a tornado..

suddenly, i am looking at all the parts of my life.. examining where i am at the moment.. trying to see if its possible to make all the pieces fit better!
I am inspired to change and grow again!

In this frenetic moment, i sometimes end up feeling all disjointed and sometimes like i'm viewing all the cards up in the air, and waiting to see how they fall...

i instinctively made this window.

Spring Pre-Collections

early spring flowers (announcing the spring pre-collections) have landed in the MLC..

Sofly hand painted sakura buds in pastel colours, create the ephemeral and sporadic feeling of early spring..

gradually the frentic energy of the summer collections will be mirrored in the addition of brighter hues to these base flowers.. culminating in an explosion of colour as we enter full spring-summer ranges in a months time..

i cant describe how much fun this was to do.. and yes the paint took ages (3 days) to dry!!:)!

stormy sydney

Sydney has been going through big storms for the last week and a half.. this wouldn't be so noticable except the storms are happening in mid summer and also as they have been so furious, causing flooding and destroying trees and homes..

after days of feeling windswept and wet, i just needed to do this window..inspiration is all around us...
